Bricks in the wall
Mark Driscoll was just talking about the people who have put bricks in your wall of life and it got me to thinking about how my life has been formed. Basically each brick is a person that has helped to shape you so I have decided to honor some of those people who have helped to mold me; they are in no particular order, really I rolled dice.
Lavern “The Bearded Wonder” Yutzy
Lavern was the leader of my local Campus Life chapter in my home town and I knew him as my leader for four years. I first went to Campus life because there were cute girls there of course. We tried to sit though the lesson so we could hang with our friends but little did I know that Lavern was teaching me more than I realized. I am hyper by nature, and I know from experience that I am not the easiest type of person to have in your small group. I really don’t know how Lavern did it, I only saw him look angry once (and I was very proud at that moment, I finally broke him). He is one of the kindest most caring men I have ever met. For years he has been pushing through all sorts of crap to reach kids in Lewistown for Jesus. His persistence along with the way he modeled Jesus in his life gave me a brick although I don’t use it as much as I should that will help me to live my life as a Christian.
